I don’t know that I realized it while I was writing, but Adjustments turns out to be, in many ways, about four lonely people finding, and not entirely on purpose, human connection. Part of the way they find that connection is by trying to help one another not be so lonely, again maybe not entirely on purpose.
There’s a short excerpt up at Tweetspeak you can read, called The Dinner Party. It includes no small bit of scheming, a tussle in the kitchen and some under-the-table shin kicks. It’s the opening of the scene that begins to reveal the true heart of each of these lonely characters.
The world needs him to come out of his house.
